Can you believe 2023 is almost here? As the year comes to a close, many of us are thinking about ways we can do things even better next year. If you're in need of a resolution, don't worry -- we've got you covered! Check out our suggestions.
1. Care for a little slice of Maryland's environment
Maryland may not be a big state, but it's huge when it comes to natural places and wildlife. Why not take the next step from appreciating it to actually doing your part for it? Volunteer for a local environmental org, look into statewide legislation about the environment, or just take some time to pick up litter in your own city or town. Every Marylander pitching in can make a big difference!
2. Adopt a new friend
Who wants to spend the new year in a shelter? If you have room in your home and heart, this could be the perfect year to bring home a cat or a dog who might otherwise not have a family to love. Spend some time in one of Maryland's many amazing shelters, and you'll find a new best friend in no time.
3. Don't be so hard on yourself
You've been working hard and making a lot of changes, but it's important to spend time recognizing that you're pretty darn accomplished. Maybe this year, instead of being so critical of what you could have done, you can take that energy and invest it in feeling pride in your work (no matter what that work might look like!). Negativity is so 2022!
4. Live up to your potential
What could the next year have in store for you? Well, pretty much anything you want it to! No more holding back in 2023, friends. You have so much potential, so don't tell yourself that you can't do it in the coming year. We're here to tell you that you can!
5, Learn more about yourself
You might think you know yourself, but we suspect there's more to discover. Invest in learning more about your body, your mind, your spiritual side and your practical talents! You might just realize there's so much more to you than you ever knew, and next year is a great time to meet that person.
6. Shop local all year long!
This one's a no-brainer! Here in Maryland, we have so many amazing local vendors, shops, restaurants, bars, and creators. Instead of giving your money to big corporations, why not give some of those places a shot? You have some amazing local makers right in your own backyard, so share the love (and the wealth!).
