One of the finest flavors of fall is apple! Sure, we love pumpkin, but there's nothing quite like biting into a freshly-picked and oh-so-juicy apple that was grown right here in the Old Line State. In fact, Maryland has quite a few apple orchards. Washington County holds the top spot for number of apple orchards, but they can also be found in other northern and central counties like Harford, Frederick, Montgomery, and Howard. (Be sure to check out the orchards' websites or Facebook pages to ensure you're meeting COVID-19 measures such as reservations or prepaid orders.)
Now that fall is rapidly approaching, we know that apple recipes can't be far behind. Not sure what to make with your freshly-picked bushel? Let us help you out.
