Pick Your Own Pumpkin at These Maryland Pumpkin Patches

There's nothing quite like picking your own pumpkin on a gorgeous fall day! Now that autumn has truly arrived here in Maryland, you probably are itching to grab that great gourd for yourself -- and we're here to help. Maryland has plenty of pumpkin patches that are truly fun for the whole family. Here are just a few!

Clark's Elioak Farm

Little ones will love everything this Ellicott City location has to offer -- it's perfect for kids. There's a petting farm stocked with critters, a hayride that goes all around the sprawling grounds, and plenty of pumpkins to pick. Older Marylanders will also get a nostalgic kick out of the creatures and characters that used to reside in the Enchanted Forest, a local theme park that ran from the 50's into the 80's.

Larriland Farm

Do you take picking produce seriously? This Woodbine location has it all -- from pumpkins to apples to fall veggies like broccoli. You can see what the day's harvest looks like on the website before you go so you know how good the pumpkin picking will be. Of course, there's more to do here than just grab gourds! You can also enjoy a hayride, baked goods, and a boo barn for the littlest ones.

The Maryland Corn Maze

Most people are heading to this Gambrills location for, you guessed it, the maze. And it's a fun one -- this year, they've gone with a superhero theme, and it's between 45 minutes to an hour for most people to get through. But if you want pumpkins as well, you'll find them here! They're grown by the Stolfus family for the maze-goers to buy. Come hungry; there's plenty of tasty food to enjoy.

Montpelier Farms

No matter how much energy your kiddos have, they'll be worn out after a day here! This Upper Marlboro farm features a petting farm, a lasso range, pumpkin bowling, and much more. The pumpkins are grown right on the grounds and come in all shapes and sizes. Best of all, the fun goes on even after Halloween is over -- this place has plenty of November hours for even more fall festivities.

Butler's Orchard

Head to Germantown for some pick-your-own fun! It's not just pumpkins that you can nab; there are also apples available through October and Christmas trees in November and December. Want to relax after finding the perfect pumpkin? Reserve your own private campfire that includes a pre-lit fire that you and all your friends can enjoy.

Queen Anne Farm

Finding the perfect pumpkin isn't hard at all when you're at this Mitchellville spot! You can take home pumpkins big and small along with jellies, gourds, squash, mums, and much more. Even better? On October 30 and 31, the fine folks here will have pre-cleaned pumpkins just ready to be turned into jack-o-lanterns in case you're short on time. Pretty cool!
