We asked our readers what their favorite place in the state to get dessert was--and they did not disappoint! Fans from all over the state weighed in on Facebook, filling us in on those special places that serve the absolute sweetest treats. Here are just a few of our favorite responses.
"Hands down, Broom's Bloom in Harford Co. is the best place for dessert. Take the whole family and sit outside listening to live music while enjoying farm-fresh ice cream in dozens of different flavors! I live in Baltimore City but I will travel out there just to get Broom's during the summertime (or anytime, really)." Jen Lynn, Facebook
Broom's Bloom is set on centuries-old farmland and sells more than just ice cream made with fresh dairy (like soups, sandwiches and quiche) --but come on, when you've got that serious sweet tooth, only ice cream is gonna cut it. Try the unusual flavors like caramel cashew or graham cracker cake batter.
"Hoffman's Ice Cream in Westminster. Their ice cream is amazing and I can't think of just one flavor, I always get a different one. They are a cute little deli and ice cream shop with the nicest staff." Caroline Aardvark-Keffer, Facebook.
Still haven't had enough ice cream? Try Hoffman's. With unique flavors like Orioles Tracks and Dreamsicle, as well as the whole host of old favorites, you're sure to find one you enjoy. And if you have a birthday party coming up, treat everyone to an ice cream cake.

"Dangerously Delicious pies are the bomb. The staff at the farmers market and their Canton location are marvelous. The Berger Cookies pie kicks butt." Kim Siegert, Facebook.
Whether you like it savory or sweet, Dangerously Delicious Pies is Maryland's pie central. I personally adore the Mobtown Brown--it's shockingly sticky and sweet. But don't forget about their fruit pies, meat pies or--what? Pancake pies? They've got them all!
